Spruce Pine Glass is expansion matched to a nominal C.O.E. of 96 which is the most common artglass C.O.E. worldwide. It is compatible with our other glass products such as sheet glass, frits, and dichroic glass to create new looks in blown glass art. The Spruce Pine Batch Glass is prepared by mixing and weighing the materials which compose the formula of the glass. The next step that Spruce Pine Batch Co follows is a Pelletizing Process to form larger granules from the finer materials. This unique process is commonly referred to as the Pelletizing Process although actual pellets are not necessarily formed. The main purpose of the Agglomeration Process is to prevent the segregation and un-mixing of materials during storage and shipping. The Agglomeration Process also increases safety by reducing the dust levels on the materials. Research has shown that the Agglomeration Process reduces furnace wear and results in large fuel savings when compared to loose Spruce Pine Batch Glass that has not followed the Agglomeration Process.
