This frit based formulation is stable at cone 06 - cone 04, but glossier at cone 04. It is high in Calcium so that all of the Mason Stains work well with it. It exhibits low expansion upon cooling which makes for a great glaze fit on most low fire commercial bodies. Great for on-glaze Majolica brush work. Most Mason Stains will require 6-7% additions by dry weight to create a colored glaze. Mason Stain 6003(Mazerine) will only need a 3% addition to the base, and all inclusion stains, purples, crimsons, and peaches will need 10% additions by dry weight. No Lead or Barium. Add approximately 3/4 pint of water per pound of glaze for a medium thickness. Mix well and then screen.
